About Me

I’m Steve. I’m 35, which is about twice the average age of everyone else on Tumblr. But like many people on Tumblr, I am obsessively in love with Doctor Who, so I fit right in. I’ve been married for over ten years, and I have a daughter who’s a few months shy of a year old. I’m a college English professor, and in my spare time I write comics and photoshop pictues of cats so they are saying inappropriate things.

This blog was created as a result of a very poor showing for me while trying to sell my comics work at C2E2 2011 in Chicago. My comics, which tend to be about relationships and human drama, kept getting passed over while I saw two things selling in mass quantities: things with cute animals and things that relied on vulgar humor. So I decided to combine the two into Kitties with Pottymouths. Now over a year later and over 250 comics down the line, I’m still doing the blog because it’s fun for me.

Every Friday is F-ed Up Friday where I do a comic that is the opposite of Kitties with Pottymouths. What’s more different than cute little kitties than ferocious man-eating sharks? and what’s more different from swearing all the time than being extraordinarily cordial to people? Hence: Cuddly Sharks with Kind Hearts.

There are occasionally other features, which include Censored Sunday, Topical TWednesday, Mike the Monkey Pop Culture Junkie, Foul-Mouthed Felines of Yesteryear, Potties with Kittymouths, Kitties with Troutymouths, and Neurotic Hamsters with Self-Esteem Issues. Those features don’t pop up very often though.
